Artistic Talk: Amina Scott, Rising Star Artist in Residence

Amina Scott was born in Oakland, and started playing electric bass at twelve when she developed a strong passion for music. She received her bachelor’s degree in music from Loyola University in New Orleans and her master’s degree from Florida State University in 2019. She lives, performs, and teaches in New Orleans where she has worked with luminaries such as Jazzmeia Horn, Chief Xian Atunde Adjuah, Don Vappie, Nicholas Payton, Herlin Riley, and Germaine Bazzle.
