Barrio Manouche / Gaucho

Led by Spanish guitarist Javi Jiménez, Barrio Manouche performs a repertoire of original compositions with an emotionally charged sound that is difficult to classify yet instantly recognizable. The group’s international roots shine brightly in their music with members from Spain, Quebec, France, Brazil and California and is deeply influenced by a wide range of musical traditions.

Made up of musicians associated with the Hot Club of San Francisco, Turk Murphy, and Tin Hat, Gaucho is a masterful Bay Area sextet that combines the influence of Django Reinhardt with ragtime, New Orleans swing and gutbucket blues. Led by eminent guitarist and Hot Club of San Francisco veteran Dave Ricketts and featuring accordionist Rob Reich, trumpeter Leon Oakley, guitarist Craig Ventresco, bassist Ari Munkres, and drummer Steve Apple, Gaucho transports listeners back in time.
