Bollywood Meets Hollywood
February 16 @ 5:30 PM PST

In this dance workshop, participants will learn a combination of Indian and American dance with a mix of 1920s Charleston style, disco, salsa, and Bollywood. For those new to it, Bollywood dance is a blend of Indian dance styles, including classical Indian dance, folk Indian dance, and contemporary R&B and hip-hop music styles. A mix of symbolic hand gestures, facial expressions, and foot movements from classical dance styles work together to tell a story that lends itself to film. It first came to prominence in the Indian film industry based in Bombay (Bombay + Hollywood = Bollywood) and has since become an international phenomenon.
No experience necessary. Please wear comfortable clothing and shoes to move in and bring a water bottle.
