California Soul: A Black History Month Fireside Chat with Tanya Holland

Chef Tanya Holland is a celebrity chef, author, restaurateur, and food systems changemaker. This program will feature a conversation–moderated by Chef Alice Pyo, Sous Chef at Central Production Kitchen & Special Projects,– and an engaging audience discussion to learn about the rich history of African American migration that brought Tanya’s own family from the Deep South to the West Coast. This educational seminar will bring to life her newest cookbook: Tanya Holland’s California Soul: Recipes from a Culinary Journey West. The conversation will also delve into Tanya’s experience working in the restaurant industry, her vision for advancing racial equity and climate action through food, the important work she’s leading across the globe, and her new role as Senior Advisor for the R&DE Stanford Food Institute.
