Magic of Christmas Toy Drive

For Carolyn Hoskins, curator and founder of the Domini Hoskins Black History Museum & Learning Center, and a Jefferson Award recipient, this truly is the most wonderful time of the year! Her favorite holiday is Christmas and her eyes light up as she prepares for the 30th year of her annual Celebrity Toy Drive, launching with star studded party on December 2, 2023 at 12:00 p.m. at 890 Jefferson Avenue in Redwood City, California. The toy drive will continue through December 15th; unwrapped new toys and books can be dropped off daily between Noon and 6:00 p.m. “ The toy drive began with the help of San Francisco 49’er Jerry Rice, “ Carolyn, the widow of 49’er Bob Hoskins, recalls with a smile. “Our family had Thanksgiving dinner at their house, and they would have Christmas dinner at my house. All of the neighbors would find a reason to stop by and then ask for an autograph, so I told them that they would have to start bringing over a toy.”
