MODEFA SF 2023 Modern Ethnic Fashion Week

Modern ethnic fashion week lasts three days, from June 15 to June 17, 2023. The Kickoff party will also serve as a celebration of Juneteenth, featuring African American fashion designers and a live music showcase starring an African international headline band from the Ivory Coast. A cultural alliance that draws us all together.

The Opening Kickoff Party Ceremony starts at the San Francisco Bayview Southeast Community Center on Thursday June 15, 2023 at 4pm. Day two is on Friday June 16th at the Brava Theater in the Mission district featuring local ethnic artists, and special international Guest Artists from the continent of Africa. The event closes with the Modern Ethnic Haute Couture Fashion Runway Show on Saturday June 17, 2023 starting 5:30PM at the War Memorial Building in the Green Room, at 401 Van Ness Avenue in San Francisco, California.

Proceeds will assist African Arts Academy in establishing a Youth Program at the Bayview Southeast Community Center to provide African Dance and Drumming classes for after school and summer programs. This fundraiser is intended to assist low-income parents in enrolling their children in classes at no or minimal cost.The initiative will serve children ages 5 to 17 in the historically underserved San Francisco neighborhood of Bayview Hunters Point and the black community at large. The objective is to reduce gun violence, keep minors off the streets, and prevent substance abuse.
