Voted Best Fashion Show in San Francisco, MODEFA is one-of-a-kind event that features cutting-edge ethnically inspired haute couture by hand picked designers from around the world. The goal is straightforward: to celebrate cultural diversity. Allowing designers to create and display a haute couture and ready-to-wear fashion garments based on ideas derived from ancient ethnic traditional clothing wear and textiles adapted to today’s modern lifestyles.
The event coincides with International Ethnic Day and Juneteenth Celebration.
MODEFA is the annual charity gala fundraising for African Arts Academy. The aim of this year’s funding benefit effort is to set the groundwork for a sustainable long-term after-school art enrichment program in San Francisco that offers low- or no-cost classes in African dance and drumming.

This will give a lifetime skill to our minority community youth to help them remain off the streets, out of trouble, and avoiding substance use.
