Lauded by Billboard and the San Francisco Chronicle for his brilliant original songwriting and harmonica chops, bluesman Rick Estrin plays a show like no other with his dynamic band The Nightcats. Estrin picked up the blues at an early age: after moving to Chicago at the age of 19 to learn from the best, he jammed with the legendary Muddy Waters, who told Rick, “You outta sight, boy! You got that sound! You play like a man!” Muddy wanted Estrin to go on the road with him, but Estrin missed Muddy’s phone call and it never happened. Upon coming home to the Bay Area he crossed paths with the legendary guitarist Charlie Baty and formed Little Charlie & The Nightcats along with Lorenzo Farrell on bass and Derrick “D’mar” Martin on drums. With Charlie’s retirement from touring in 2008, Rick brought in guitar virtuoso Kid Andersen and formed Rick Estrin & The Nightcats.
