William Shakespeare’s Richard II
April 16 - April 24
Richard II is an imaginative retelling of power, corruption, and fall from grace. A new modern verse translated by Naomi Iizuka chronicles the drama of King Richard as a memory play, where the drama begins at the end and works its way forward retelling this tragic tale. African-American Shakespeare Company’s Artistic Director L. Peter Callender brings a fresh take on the oft-told tale of this theatrical masterpiece.
