SUMMARY:J Boog
DESCRIPTION:Born and raised on the West Coast and heavily influenced by his Polynesian upbringing\, J Boog is one of the top reggae artists in recent years. Mentored by his island reggae icon Fiji\, he honed his craft early on\, blending reggae with soulful melodies and a distinctive vocal style. A chance encounter with Yami Bolo and Gramps Morgan led him to Jamaica\, where he worked in the historical studios of Bob Marley\, Don Corleon\, Bobby Digital\, Shaggy\, and Sugar Minott – an experience that deepened his connection to reggae’s rich history and the islands’ culture. \nInfo & Tickets

SUMMARY:Sonoma County Juneteenth
DESCRIPTION:Juneteenth is the oldest known celebration commemorating the ending of slavery in the United States.  Dating back to 1865\, it was on June 19th that the Union soldiers\, led by Major General Gordon Granger\, landed at Galveston\, Texas with news that the war had ended and that the enslaved were now free. This was two and a half years after President Lincoln’s Emancipation Proclamation – which had become official January 1\, 1863. The Emancipation Proclamation had little impact on the Texans due to the minimal number of Union troops to enforce the new Executive Order. \n \nInfo & Tickets
