Born to Caribbean parents and raised in Berkeley\, California\, he pairs a Harvard neurobiology background with jazz mastery from the New England Conservatory\, and his scientific curiosity about African musical expression guides his artistry. After studying under jazz luminaries including Miguel Zenón\, Jason Moran and Jerry Bergonzi\, George expanded his work significantly during a ten-month Peabody Gardner Fellowship in Cuba. His acclaimed 2021 debut I Insist and recent release Ocean Passage showcase his distinctive voice in modern jazz.
