DESCRIPTION:Oakland artist Woody De Othello’s solo exhibition explores the primordial relationship between body\, earth\, and spirit through new works that combine material experimentation with sculptural gesture. Othello honors Northern California’s ceramic tradition while drawing on knowledge and philosophies from around the world through a decolonial lens. \nThe exhibition considers how objects carry history\, absorb meaning\, and become vessels for spiritual and emotional experience. It includes a new bronze sculpture created specifically for UC Davis.
