DESCRIPTION:SFJAZZ and MoAD are proud to co-present an intimate performance and conversation with the African Rhythms Alumni Quintet on Saturday\, April 11th at 1pm. Highlighting the legacy of legendary pianist and NEA Jazz Master Randy Weston\, the Alumni Quintet celebrates Weston’s vital contributions to the jazz continuum by bringing his compositions and arrangements to the stage. The ensemble members—all of whom share a close and long-term relationship with Weston—transmit “the very spirit” of Weston’s music. We are thrilled to welcome T.K.
