Black History Month | Feeding The Culture: Sankofa Dinner
February 3 @ 6:00 PM - 10:00 PM PST
An evening that transcends borders and brings together the rich flavors and cultural influences of the African diaspora.
As we kick off Black History Month in February, we want to celebrate in an evening that brings together the spices of East Africa, the aromas of South America and the Caribbean, and the soul of the American South, each bite is a celebration of the culinary origins we’ve all been influenced by. Sankofa teaches us to go back to our roots in order to move forward.
Immerse yourself in the warmth of family style plates, shared stories, live music, and the chefs’ personal connections to the diaspora come to life. This collaboration is more than a dinner; it’s an exploration of the shared roots and varied influences that have shaped the culinary landscape over such a large part of the world.
Chef Michele McQueen of Town Fare will be representing the American South, Chef Nelson German of AlaMar will be representing the Caribbean & Dominican Republic, Chef Adiam of Melah Bistro will be representing East Africa & Ethiopia, Chef Juan Hormiga of Parche will be representing South America & Colombia.
