Bouquets to Art Floral Demonstration – Bloom Where You’re Rooted: Culture and Floral Design

Join Gina Lett-Shrewsberry, former Bouquets to Art exhibitor and owner of floral and event design studio Inspirations by Gina, and Teresa Speight, author of Black Flora: Inspiring Profiles of Floriculture’s New Vanguard. They will speak about the African American experience in floriculture, the magic of gardens, and how to bring beauty inside the home. Combining floral finds from the San Francisco Botanical Garden and San Francisco Flower Mart with cultural wisdom from the speakers’ Southern roots, this promises to be an event to remember. Teresa (Teri) J. Speight speaks locally and internationally on the African American floral experience, shade gardening, urban gardening, Earth-friendly practices for gardeners, and more. She is co-author of The Urban Garden: 101 Ways to Grow Food and Beauty in the City and runs the blog and podcast Cottage in the Court. Gina Lett-Shrewsbury was the first African American floral designer to participate in Bouquets to Art in 2023.
