Eat Like an Indian ... The Art and Etiquette About Eating With Your Fingers

Join us for a 9-course dinner, Indian style.

Nothing brings peoples together more than food. Especially in a city like San Francisco. Taking advantage of the diverse cultures and cuisines on offer, we are excited to announce a new series called “Eat Like A” exploring the different food and customs around the world and being educated in the process, on how to eat like a native. We’re starting off with South Asia and eating with your fingers. Common throughout many parts of Latin America, Africa, the Middle East and South Asia, but there is more to it than balling up food and putting it in your mouth—there is an etiquette, some in South Asia might argue, a refinement. One that separates and distinguishes regions, class and yes, caste. Leading us through this program is acclaimed San Francisco chef Ranjan Dey, star of the documentary series “My India with Ranjan Dey.”
