Saxophonist Richard Howell performs a John Coltrane tribute with Frank Martin on piano, Deszon Claiborne on drums and Ron Belcher on bass.
The program honors Coltrane’s enduring musical and spiritual legacy. Yerba Buena Gardens Festival describes Howell as an acclaimed musician, composer and educator whose “Bridge Music” creates connections across differences and whose relationship to Coltrane’s music is deepened through a close family connection with Ravi Coltrane.
