The weekend opened with an intimate Friday evening Leadership Dinner that welcomed sponsors, supporters, and invited guests for thoughtful conversation and meaningful connection in an elegant setting. Among those in attendance were Philanthropist Erik Moore, Oscar Nominee & Actor, Delroy Lindo, Entrepreneur Deka Dike, and Dr. Gethsemane Moss-Escovedo, Chairwoman of The Vibrancy Foundation Board.
The following day, Black women from across the Bay Area gathered for Styled to Heal™, a one-day retreat focused on wellness, reflection, restoration, and community. Guests experienced a thoughtfully curated day that included art journaling, restorative yoga, a tea ceremony, a sound bath, and an inspiring keynote by Kimberly Bryant, founder of Black Girls Code.
Hosted by Lucretia “Livacious Lu®” Clark, BSBA, HC, CAS, the retreat was rooted in a truth many Black women know deeply: for generations, they have carried so much for so long. Styled to Heal™ was designed to offer an intentional space to pause, release, and reconnect.
The experience was further elevated by the presence of celebrated harpist Destiny Muhammad and photography by Chloe Jackman Photography, whose images captured the beauty and spirit of the weekend.
Guests described the experience as affirming, restorative, and deeply needed, with many noting the care behind every detail. The success of the weekend was made possible by the support of sponsors, volunteers, board leadership, and community partners, including fiscal sponsor NAMI Contra Costa County.
As momentum continues to build, Styled to Heal™ reflects a growing commitment to creating meaningful spaces where Black women can be poured into, seen, and supported in wellness, creativity, and community.
