52nd Annual Castro Street Fair
The 52nd Annual Castro Street Fair celebrates queer life, neighborhood history and community connection in the heart of San Francisco’s Castro District. Founded by Harvey Milk in 1974 to support gay-owned businesses and showcase the neighborhood’s vitality, the fair now brings together LGBTQIA+ residents, families, artists, performers, merchants, community organizations and allies. Hundreds of exhibitors, artisans, craftspeople, restaurants and nonprofit groups line Castro, Market and 18th streets, with multiple stages, live entertainment and dancing throughout the fair.
The 2026 theme, “Where We Belong,” honors the Castro as a place where generations have found visibility, safety, joy and chosen family. A suggested donation supports local nonprofit beneficiaries and helps sustain the annual celebration. The fair is smoke-free and combines local commerce, cultural expression and the neighborhood’s enduring tradition of radical inclusion in one of San Francisco’s longest-running community street festivals.
