The Aga Khan Master Musicians bring together virtuosos from Central Asia, China, and the Middle East to create new music inspired by longstanding traditions. Core members Feras Charestan on qanun, Abbos Kosimov on doira, Basel Rajoub on duclar and saxophone, Yurdal Tokcan on oud, and Wu Man on pipa are joined by French guests Vincent Peirani on accordion and Vincent Ségal on cello.

The septet performs jointly created works inspired by the ancient routes that carried trade, ideas, and culture between Asia and the Mediterranean. Their unusual combination of instruments allows distinct regional practices and timbres to converge without losing their individual voices.
