Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater returns for its annual Berkeley residency with renewed energy under Alicia Graf Mack, the company’s Daria L. and Eric J. Wallach Artistic Director, working alongside associate artistic director Matthew Rushing. A celebrated former Ailey dancer, Graf Mack leads the ensemble into its next chapter while sustaining the spiritual depth, elegance, strength, abstraction, and soulfulness that distinguish the Ailey tradition.

The dancers will move between canonical Ailey masterworks—including the enduring Revelations—and new creations by contemporary choreographers. The full repertory for the 2027 residency is forthcoming and is scheduled to be announced in December 2026.
