WOCAN supports missions that preserve and uplift the cultural, political, economic, and social conditions of the Hoover, Clawson, and McClymonds neighborhoods. As a cultural action network, we deliberately use well-designed methodologies that capture and record the cultural heritage of African Americans located in Northwest Oakland. The Black Liberation Walking Tour (BLWT) is a community-led cultural asset map celebrating Hoover-Foster’s multi-generational Black history and culture. More information at https://www.blwt.org/
