Cal Athletics Black History Month Celebration: Champions of Justice

Join Cal Athletics & CAA to celebrate Black history, featuring panelists and honorees Dr. Harry Edwards, Dr. John Carlos & Dr. Tommy Smith!
Join us during this 2024 Black History Month for a panel discussion and celebration featuring panelists and honorees Dr. Harry Edwards, Dr. John Carlos and Dr. Tommy Smith. In this conversation, we will learn about the 1968 Olympic Project for Human Rights and honor these three giants of justice for their contributions to sport and society, including the creation of the most iconic sports image of the 20th century.
The panel discussion will be followed by a catered reception and an opportunity to mix and mingle with the Cal community. The evening will end with a “Step and Stroll to Victory” aka a spirited walk to Haas Pavillion where we will cheer on the Cal women’s basketball team as they take on Arizona State University at 7 PM.
