Carla Helmbrecht and the Brad Leali Ensemble
Vocalist Carla Helmbrecht and alto saxophonist Brad Leali perform with pianist Adam Shulman, drummer Brian Fishler and bassist Ron Belcher. The program brings Helmbrecht’s sensitive vocal style together with the ensemble’s soulful, blues- and swing-influenced approach to standards, original music and arrangements.
Leali has toured and recorded with artists including Harry Connick Jr. and the Count Basie Orchestra and has performed with the Kennedy Center Honors Band and Lyle Lovett. Helmbrecht’s recording One for My Baby charted on Gavin’s Jazz Chart, while Be Cool Be Kind received three Grammy nominations.
