The Freight’s Vibrant Voices. Global Roots. gala celebrates the listening room’s mission with artists whose work crosses musical borders. The program is anchored by Rickie Lee Jones, the Grammy-winning singer, songwriter, and storyteller whose landmark albums Rickie Lee Jones and Pirates established one of popular music’s most distinctive voices.
Jones’ recent work includes the Grammy-nominated Pieces of Treasure, created with longtime producer Russ Titelman, and her acclaimed memoir Last Chance Texaco. The evening places her singular songcraft within a broader celebration of the global roots and independent voices The Freight sustains.
