Friday Nights at OMCA with Los Tranquilos
Step into an evening of nostalgic rhythms, movement, and community connection at Friday Nights at OMCA. The Garden Stage comes alive with Los Tranquilos, a California group blending romantic soul, psychedelia, and classic grooves from 1960s and ’70s Latin America. Their soulful melodies, rock influences, and timeless rhythms celebrate musical traditions that continue to inspire generations.
The evening also features Caja Mágica’s all-vinyl DJ set of Latin American records, an introductory disco dance lesson with community activist and dancer Soulchild, Bike East Bay community activities, and Gallery Chats throughout OMCA’s galleries. Los Tranquilos—brothers Manny and JJ Martinez with longtime friend Cameron Porter—formed in 2022 and create historically rooted grooves inspired by romanticas, soul, and psychedelia from México and across Latin America.
