Gallery+Studio / Patching Our Stories Together: Family Lineage in Fabric

This two-part workshop integrates an interactive gallery tour with a related art project. Sign up in the Art Lab ten minutes ahead of the session, which begins with a short gallery tour at 11:30.
Inspired by the vibrant quilts of the Durham-Henry-Brackens-Byrd family on view in Routed West—quilts that weave together four generations of memory, artistry, and resilience—explore your own family stories in this multigenerational family workshop. Using an array of fabrics—corduroy, satin, patterned, and solid color—and paper for making patterns, assemble unique textured collages reflecting your personal lineage and traditions. Explore your own family’s journey—no stitching required!
