Discover Community Cafe celebrates the first anniversary of Get-Hype Open Mic with a free R&B and poetry showcase hosted by award-winning author and poet J.R. Rice.
The evening features live R&B, poetry, storytelling, comedy and an open mic, along with a writers’ workshop, raffle prizes, free books and special guests. Attendees can also try the premiere of the cafe’s Get-Hype cocktails and mocktails. The program begins at 6 p.m. on Friday, September 4.
