Lalo Guerrero Legacy Festival: La Doña and Mark Guerrero with Jerry Salas

The Freight’s second Lalo Guerrero Legacy Festival honors the “Father of Chicano Music” with La Doña, Mark Guerrero, and guest Jerry Salas, hosted by Chuy Varela. Co-curated by PC Muñoz and Guerrero’s son Mark, the celebration reflects the extraordinary range of an artist whose work crossed rancheras, corridos, cumbias, salsa, swing, rock, blues, and more.
San Francisco artist, educator, activist, and cultural worker La Doña brings trumpet, strings, percussion, and a lifelong grounding in family conjunto music. Her songs unite corrido, bolero, cumbia, and mariachi with reggaeton, hip-hop, and jazz, turning performance into a space for ceremony, collective healing, and political action.
