New Work: Raven Chacon

Pulitzer Prize–winning composer and artist Raven Chacon brings Diné perspectives to a sonic and visual installation centered on the landscapes of Navajo Nation. Film, field recordings, electronic music, and topographical drawings connect Southwestern canyons with imagined terrain on Mars.
The commission challenges colonial ways of seeing and considers sovereignty, renaming, occupation, memory, and the histories of human and non-human inhabitants.
