Nikole Hannah-jones

Nikole Hannah-Jones is an award-winning investigative reporter who covers civil rights and racial injustice for The New York Times Magazine and the Knight Chair in Race and Journalism at Howard University where she is the founding director of the Center for Journalism & Democracy. Hannah-Jones is also the creator of the landmark 1619 Project, an illustrated edition of which will be published this fall with newly commissioned artwork and archival images. In 2017 she received a MacArthur Foundation Fellowship known as the Genius Grant for her work on educational inequality.
