San Francisco Ballet’s Nutcracker returns to the War Memorial Opera House, carrying audiences from Clara’s Victorian-era San Francisco home through a swirling snowstorm and into the radiant Crystal Palace. The company’s landmark production brings together the Sugar Plum Fairy, the Nutcracker Prince and an international cast of characters in a holiday adventure designed for audiences of all ages.

Helgi Tomasson’s choreography unfolds to Peter Ilyich Tchaikovsky’s celebrated score, performed by the Grammy Award-winning San Francisco Ballet Orchestra. Michael Yeargan’s scenery, Martin Pakledinaz’s costumes, James F. Ingalls’ lighting and Wendall K. Harrington’s projections give this Bay Area tradition its theatrical scale. The run also includes a sensory-friendly performance adapted for neurodiverse audiences.
