Opening Gala w/ Hilary Hahn
Violinist Hilary Hahn joins conductor Giancarlo Guerrero and the San Francisco Symphony for a celebratory concert opening the orchestra’s 2026–27 season.
Hahn performs Felix Mendelssohn’s Violin Concerto in E minor, a work whose urgent opening melody places the soloist at the center almost immediately and unfolds into one of the Romantic repertoire’s most beloved concertos. The piece has been a specialty of Hahn’s since early in her career, and her acclaimed recording helped establish it as a signature work.
The gala concert brings Hahn’s precision and expressive clarity together with Guerrero and the orchestra at Davies Symphony Hall to launch the new season.
