Beginning his singing career at 18, he’s drawn comparisons to legends like Andy Bey, Johnny Hartman, and Joe Williams. Tyreek’s vocal debut at Jazz at the Lincoln Center’s Essentially Ellington Competition won him the Outstanding Vocalist Award from Wynton Marsalis. Since then, he’s shared the stage with jazz greats like Gary Bartz, Rodney Whitaker, and Theo Croker. A graduate of Oberlin Conservatory, Tyreek remains a sought-after vocalist, captivating audiences across the U.S. and shining bright in New York City.
