NEA Jazz Masters Stanley Clarke and Ron Carter meet for four nights focused on the bass’s role in modern jazz, from hard bop through jazz fusion.
Clarke gained broad recognition through Return to Forever and has worked as a bandleader and collaborator. Carter, a member of Miles Davis’ second great quintet, holds the Guinness World Record as jazz’s most recorded bassist and has appeared on more than 2,300 albums.
