The Moth StorySLAM: MAGIC
The Moth StorySLAM is an open-mic storytelling competition where anyone may put their name in the hat to tell a true, personal story in five minutes. Told live and without notes, the stories turn a simple theme into an evening of unexpected humor, vulnerability and connection.
For MAGIC, storytellers look for moments that resisted explanation: improbable coincidences, impossible outcomes, sudden beauty, startling transformations or an “abracadabra” that changed everything for better or worse. The theme can lead from stage tricks to deeply personal enchantments, with each teller deciding where belief ends and wonder begins. Come ready to share, or settle in and let the night reveal its surprises.
