The Moth StorySLAM is an open-mic competition where participants tell true, personal stories without notes. Anyone may put their name forward for a five-minute story, while audience members can simply listen as a single theme produces an unpredictable range of voices and experiences.

This edition’s theme is “MAGIC”: moments of enchantment that resist logical explanation, improbable events that came true, startling coincidences, extraordinary beauty, or illusions that changed what someone believed possible. Since 1997, The Moth has turned authentic first-person storytelling into a form poised between documentary and theater.
