The Photography Show 2024 Presented by AIPAD Lola Flash & Andre D. Wagner

Jenkins Johnson Gallery is pleased to announce our participation in The Photography Show presented by AIPAD, at the Park Avenue Armory, New York, from April 25 to April 28, booth A34, featuring works by Lola Flash and Andre D. Wagner.
Lola Flash’s work challenges stereotypes and gender, sexual, and racial preconceptions. Their art and activism are profoundly connected, fueling a life-long commitment to visibility and preserving the legacy of LGBTQIA+ and communities of color worldwide. Flash’s practice is firmly rooted in social justice advocacy around sexual, racial, and cultural difference. Flash’s Cross-Colour Series, employs a technique for developing the images on negative paper, to force viewers to see the world in a different perception. These portraits focus on the impact skin pigmentation plays on Black identity and challenge the visual representation of gender. Flash’s work is currently on view in What If Women Ruled the World? at the National Museum of Contemporary Art in Athens, Greece.
