Unforgettable

On Saturday, August 10 at 4pm, Unforgettable, a compelling new musical stage play that delves into the profound effects of Alzheimer’s disease on the African American community is being performed by a professional, touring troupe at Laney College, Odell Johnson Performing Arts Center in Oakland.
Since July 2022, Unforgettable has toured nationwide, reaching more than 10,000 people, including many personally affected by the disease.
The play, developed by Gdavis Productions and Films, LLC, and presented by the Alzheimer’s Association, is an original musical production that combines powerful storytelling, a soul-stirring soundtrack, and engaging performances to highlight the unique challenges faced by African American families dealing with Alzheimer’s. The play seeks to educate the community, encourage dialogue, and promote support for those affected by this condition.
Unforgettable features a stellar cast of characters including acclaimed actors Yessie Rodriguez, Dartez Wright and Kenneth Pierce, American Idol finalist Scott Savol and gospel sensation LeJuene Thompson from Donald Lawerence and the Tri-City Singers.
