Join Alicia K. Harris, award-winning filmmaker, director, and producer for a visual storytelling workshop for teens. Known for her poetic, expressive style and work celebrating the Black experience, Alicia will lead students through the various visual components that encompass a film, from cinematography to production and costume design. Students will learn how to convey emotion through imagery and storyboarding exercises as well as how a director goes from script to screen. The filmmaker will also screen her short film On a Sunday at Eleven and give a presentation on her career in the film and television industry. Students will have the chance to ask the director about her career or for advice about getting started in the film industry!
