McMullen, recognized as one of the World’s Most Innovative Retailers by Vogue Business, is thrilled to have hosted a special evening at the de Young Museum to welcome fashion’s shining star, Christopher John Rogers back to The Bay. Oakland’s pioneering founder, Sherri McMullen, curated an unforgettable immersive night to celebrate the intersection of fashion, art and community.

On Thursday, May 30th from 6:30-9:30 PM, guests enjoyed a private viewing of Fashioning San Francisco: A Century of Style exhibit, where two of Rogers’ pieces are currently on display from Sherri’s personal collection. After the viewing of this stunning exhibit, everyone moved up for the second portion of this magical night to de Young’s Hamon Tower Observation deck for a beautiful sunset cocktail reception with 360-panoramic views of the city to take in an intimate conversation with Sherri and Christopher.

McMullen held a special fashion presentation from CJR’s current 013 collection alongside some of his iconic archival designs to close out this wonderful evening of high fashion. The fusion of art and fashion was on full display as everyone got the opportunity to discover Rogers’ striking designs firsthand, a testament to his creativity and individuality. Rogers’ 004 original Strawberry dress is also being remade for purchase exclusively for McMullen to honor this momentous occasion together.
