John Pizzarelli Presents “Dear Mr. Bennett”
Guitarist and vocalist John Pizzarelli honors Tony Bennett with Dear Mr. Bennett, a program shaped by personal and family connections to the legendary singer. Pizzarelli’s father, guitarist Bucky Pizzarelli, frequently accompanied Bennett, and John later performed with Bennett in a radio broadcast.
The concert draws from Pizzarelli’s tribute album of the same name, pairing Bennett-associated repertoire with the guitarist’s signature swing, warmth and storytelling. The album cover features a portrait Bennett sketched during one of Pizzarelli’s New York engagements.
