Miles Electric Band
The Miles Electric Band brings together Miles Davis alumni and a new generation of jazz innovators to explore and extend the electric-period music of Davis. The rotating ensemble was founded by Emmy- and Grammy-winning producer and drummer Vince Wilburn Jr., Davis’ nephew and former bandmate.
The group’s Miles Davis Centennial program features musicians associated with Davis alongside leading contemporary players, with the endorsement of the Miles Davis Estate. Its work honors the source material while continuing the boundary-pushing spirit that defined Davis’ electric era.
Performances: Saturday, October 3 at 7:30 and 9:30 p.m.; Sunday, October 4 at 7 p.m.
