Jorge Luis Pacheco Trio: “Live from Havana”
Havana-born pianist, composer and bandleader Jorge Luis Pacheco brings the energy of Cuban jazz to the coast. A winner of the Montreux Jazz Piano Solo Competition, Pacheco blends Afro-Cuban rhythms, American jazz, classical technique, pop and soul in performances known for their speed, color and emotional range.
Pacheco has received honors at JoJazz and the Made in New York Jazz Competition and has collaborated with Wynton Marsalis and the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra, Arturo O’Farrill and Lenny White. His trio features bassist Gerson Lazo-Quiroga and drummer Reinier Mendoza.
