To celebrate Treasures of the Pharaohs, join us for a concert of Egyptian classical music. Music in-Takht presents a special program celebrating the golden age of 20th-century Egyptian music, featuring iconic works and rich traditions that defined an era of cultural brilliance.
The ensemble features Basma Edrees on violin, Moe Elshazly on oud, Seif Ibrahim on ney, Amr Toppozada on bass, and Mohamed Abdelradi and Loay Dahbour on Egyptian hand drums.

About the performers
Music in-Takht, the Bay Area’s Egyptian heritage ensemble, was founded by Egyptian violinist and educator Basma Edrees to celebrate Egypt’s rich instrumental legacy and its exciting modern evolution. The group delivers captivating performances of timeless classical repertoire alongside bold contemporary compositions that blend Egyptian elements with global styles, taking audiences on an unforgettable journey through the many eras of Egyptian music.
Through their regular concerts in the San Francisco Bay Area, Music in-Takht has become a powerful voice for sharing Egypt’s cultural legacy with new audiences and an ambassador for Egypt’s musical past, present, and future within the Bay Area.
