Taylor Mac Tender HeartPerformance artist, writer, director, actor and singer Taylor Mac returns with a new concert. A San Francisco icon, Mac creates experimental works that build community through theater, routinely breaking performance conventions and inviting audiences to consider questions of gender, identity, queerness and performance itself.
Mac’s joyful, charismatic and vulnerable performance style turns passive spectators into active collaborators. Raised in Stockton, Mac came to San Francisco for the first AIDS march as a teenager in 1983, an experience that later helped inspire A 24-Decade History of Popular Music.
