BEAT: Belew/Vai/Levin/Bozzio Performing the Music of King Crimson
After more than 100 performances across North and South America, Europe and Japan, BEAT returns for its final North American tour, bringing the music of King Crimson’s landmark 1980s period to Blue Note Napa Summer Sessions.
Former King Crimson members Adrian Belew and Tony Levin are joined by guitarist Steve Vai and drummer Terry Bozzio. Together they perform material from Discipline, Beat and Three of a Perfect Pair, three albums that reshaped progressive music during the decade.
The quartet approaches the catalog as a live interpretation rather than a recreation of the original recordings, emphasizing the precision, adventurousness and instrumental interplay that made the music endure.
