Mathis Picard Trio

Rising pianist and composer Mathis Picard makes his SFJAZZ debut with a trio that blends classical precision, stride piano, electronic textures and global rhythms.
Born in France to Malagasy and French parents, Picard began playing piano at age three and later studied at Juilliard with Kenny Barron. His collaborations include Ron Carter, Wynton Marsalis, Braxton Cook and Cyrille Aimée, while his album Heat of the Moment explores climate change, community and resilience.
