Half Moon Bay Art & Pumpkin Festival
Half Moon Bay celebrates its identity as the “World Pumpkin Capital” during the 54th Half Moon Bay Art & Pumpkin Festival, a free two-day autumn tradition on historic Main Street. The festival pairs giant pumpkins and harvest spectacle with an expansive juried marketplace featuring work from about 250 artists and craftmakers. Visitors can expect live music and street entertainment, pumpkin-carving demonstrations, seasonal food and drinks, the Great Pumpkin Parade, costume and pie-eating contests, family activities and the champion from the World Championship Pumpkin Weigh-Off.
Booths showcase painting, photography, ceramics, glass, jewelry, textiles, leather, wood, metal and mixed media. Community food stands serve pumpkin-flavored specialties and familiar festival favorites, while the surrounding Coastside adds farm stands, pumpkin patches and autumn scenery to the experience. Founded in 1971, the festival has raised millions of dollars for Coastside civic projects and community-service organizations.
