Friday Nights at OMCA with MacArthur Maze | 60th Anniversary of the Black Panther Party
Oakland Museum of California marks the Black Panther Party’s 60th anniversary with an evening bringing together local music, film and conversation. MacArthur Maze performs with guests Loove Moore and DJ Kream, while DJ BlackWoman adds a separate set. The program also includes Memories in Motion: Selected Stories of Mildred Howard, followed by a discussion involving filmmaker Lamar ‘MYL3Z’ Brown, Howard’s grandson.
Visitors can take part in figure drawing with Sketchboard Co. and explore the museum through Gallery Chats. The outdoor Friday Nights event is free; activities inside the galleries may require museum admission. The celebration connects Oakland’s creative community with the anniversary’s focus on the party’s enduring legacy.
