Brava! Block Party

Brava brings its anniversary celebration onto 24th Street with a free neighborhood gathering welcoming families, artists and community members. The occasion recognizes four decades of Brava, three decades of community ownership and the theater building’s centennial. Live performances, art activities and screenings connect the celebration to the Mission District’s cultural life.
The film program explores women’s contributions to lowrider culture and the communities surrounding San Francisco’s cruising scene. Screenings include work associated with Vero Majano and Harvey Magsaysay Lozada, with a car show continuing the celebration outside. The event takes place between Bryant and Hampshire streets, with screenings inside Brava Theater Center.
